The Best Time of Day to Water Your Plants

Like people, plants can actually have specific times in the day when they crave refreshment. But when exactly is that?

Midday watering is the least effective because the sun is at its high-point. This means all the water you just gave your plant will likely evaporate before your plant has a chance to take a big drink.

To avoid this, many people water their plants at night. However, this causes another issue: without any sunlight, your plant might not get a chance to dry out. This can lead to root rot, fungal growth, and insects.

Watering your plants in the morning or evening is typically best — though the morning is preferred. When you water your plants in the morning, they have all day to drink the water down and dry before bedtime.

Be sure to keep an eye on your plant’s soil to determine if your watering schedule is effective. Soil should generally be slightly moist. If the soil is completely dry, your plant may be parched. And if it's too wet, this can cause other issues.

However, this can all depend on specific plant species. Some plants thrive when the soil can dry completely between waterings and may not need a daily drink! Do your research to know how often your plant needs to be watered, and adjust your schedule accordingly.

Growing Your Own Produce as an Act of Self-Care

Growing your own produce isn't just a way to enjoy time outside — it can also be an incredible act of self-care!

  • Increased nutritional variety: People who garden are more likely to eat more fruits and vegetables, which increases the variety of nutrients our bodies receive.

  • Vitamin D: You also get some bonus vitamin D from being out in the sunshine, which helps our mood.

  • Movement: Tending to a garden also requires moderate movement, which comes with so many amazing benefits!

  • Save money: Growing your own food is also a money-saver, so you can enjoy some extra cash in your weekly budget or savings.

  • A sense of accomplishment: Growing your own garden is a great way to enjoy your free time, and comes with a great sense of accomplishment when you get to eat that yummy food!

Whether you start small with an indoor potted plant or go big with a full outdoor garden, there are so many benefits of growing your own produce!

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2024

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

How Different Plants Can Help With Our Mental Health

The great outdoors can do wonders for our mental health. Humans have a natural inclination to connect with nature — it makes us happy and has so many other great benefits!

However, we might not always be able to spend as much time outdoors as we would like.

Indoor plants are a great way to mimic the pleasure of being outside, even if we can't be.

Any house plant can have benefits as we derive peace from tending to houseplants and the fragrance can be mood-boosting.

Some plants have specific benefits, including:

  • Lavender: Helps promote feelings of calm

  • Snake plants: Can help remove toxins in our homes

  • Gerbera daisies: Are linked with relaxation and cheerfulness

  • Indoor green plants: May help "elicit positive emotion, which in turn reduce people's mental stress."

Consider adding a plant or two to your home, and see how it impacts your mood!
